Pet Crossing Animal Hospital & Dental Clinic

Our Services - Dental & Surgical

Dental Services
We believe that one of the most important parts of pets’ health care is attention to dental disease. Pet Crossing is one of the most experienced and technically advanced hospitals for dental services in the Midwest. Regular dental care improves quality of life as well as increasing length of life.

We offer a wide variety of dental services ranging from tooth brushing lessons and diagnostic cleaning with x-rays to advanced procedures such as jaw surgery.

Dr. Knutson performs endodontics (root canal and vital pulpotomy therapy), exodontics (tooth extraction), jaw fracture repair, and oral surgery for cancer and bone infection.

Surgical Services
We offer comprehensive surgical services including soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Most surgical procedures can be performed at Pet Crossing. Our staff doctors perform all routine and many advanced surgeries. Surgery requiring advanced training or specialized equipment is done by a Board Certified Surgeon who travels to Pet Crossing to perform these procedures.

At Pet Crossing, we perform the vast majority of our surgical procedures with a surgical laser. The laser seals blood vessels and nerve endings as it “cuts.” This results in less bleeding and swelling as well as less post operative pain.

Anesthetic Services
All our anesthetic procedures (both dental and surgical) are performed with the safest most up to date drugs and monitoring devices. We also provide comfortable and heated recovery areas for each patient. Our clients are welcome to observe our procedures and can be with their pet as they recover from anesthesia.

We believe that pain management is just as important for pets as it is for people. We use both general and local anesthetics, injectable analgesic drugs for hospitalized patients and oral pain medications when our patients are ready to go home.
